Due to Sandy there was not much action in the beginning of the week. We were suppose to have our lumber Monday or Tuesday and then framing was suppose to start. Needless to say it did not, and that is fine, because I am sure there were more important lots/houses that needed attention before ours. And, since our house wasn't framed yet I was not too concerned... anxious...yes.
We went to the neighborhood for Halloween and did some trick or treating/meeting the neighbors/spying on the other houses...heheh....we had a great time. Everyone we met was very friendly and seemed like they like to have a good time.....which we are excited about.
We talked to the PM yesterday and got an update on the progress and when I went by this morning our lumber was there and was just waiting to be put up! YAY! We will go by again this weekend to see the progress if there is any. I didn't get out to take pictures because somebody fell asleep in the backseat!
One point that was brought up was the driveway and that we have a few options. We will have to discuss these at the pre drywall meeting. I think I am going to need to be on the lot to visualize it before we make a decision. Something that was mentioned was that we may be able to do a 23 ft wide driveway with an extra 5 feet in length past where they would originally end vs. a normal 25ft wide driveway. Thoughts????
We're getting a driveway like that...our lot is too narrow for our side garage to have a standard-width driveway, so it's extra long. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, because that's one more car I can fit in the driveway at holidays! Important for us, since we're on a cul-de-sac and don't have much street parking (unless we annoy the neighbors!).
